At My Balanced Dog, we are passionate about helping people bring out the best in their dogs. Formerly The Atlernative Way Dog Training Co., we have been working with people and their dogs in Kamloops since 2001.

We have developed a range of products and services to assist people in their search to better understand and meet the needs of their dogs. We believe that by educating people, we empower them to make the best possible choices for their dogs.

We have committed to offering the highest quality services possible, by:

• Creating a comprehensive array of dog training programs to suit each client and their individual needs, including aggression and behaviour problems. Our training methods are educational and fair - never bullying or harsh.
   
• Creating a dog daycare that focuses on ensuring that each and every dog has a safe and fun day, a day filled with positive experiences and free of stress. 
   
• In our natural dog supply shop, we offer products carefully selected for their positive impact on dogs' health and well-being. We carry the highest quality premium products, locally or Canadian-Made whenever possible. Our products are chosen with our clients and their dogs in mind.

 

About the owner

Tamryn Fudge is the owner and dog trainer at My Balanced Dog. Tamryn’s life has always revolved around dogs. The deep connection she feels with dogs has led her to seek out a working life that includes dogs. From veterinarian nurse to pet supply shop girl, Tamryn has done it all – with compassion and commitment. She has walked dogs at the SPCA and fostered dogs for the SPCA. She has done agility, flyball, tracking, precision obedience and therapy dog work.

Before training dogs, Tamryn completed a comprehensive 2-year dog training apprenticeship with behaviour specialists Kathy and Gary Gibson, who own and operate Custom Canine, in Burnaby BC. During this apprenticeship, Tamryn had a special focus on aggression and behaviour problems in dogs. This focus has continued at My Balanced Dog, where Tamryn specializes in helping dogs with aggression and behaviour problems.

Tamryn brings her passion and enthusiasm for dogs and their people to My Balanced Dog. With her extensive experience, she has developed a broad understanding of the complex emotional and behavioural nature of dogs. She draws on this experience and her observations when working to help people bring out the best in their dogs - whether through training, in the daycare, or in the shop, helping people choose products to best suit their dogs' needs.
